A WAY HOME
TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
BRIDGING THE GAP ON THE ROAD TO
SELF -SUFFICIENCY

We all walk on a bridge called life. On the road to Self-Sufficiency sometimes there are road blocks or gaps in the form of crisis, emergency, and hardship. Life happens. Our mission is to step in the gap so that people can continue on the road to self-sufficiency instead of falling back or slipping into the gaps. A Way Home is a transportation assistance program to assist people who may need rides that are not covered by medical transportation assistance or other program. Rides like: a newborn’s ride home from the hospital, a parent making round trips to see their child in the ICU, a parents way back and forth to work in order to provide for their family, a grocery shopping trip to put food in the house, ride to DMV for identification, social security office for their social security card, etc. These are only a few needs that if transportation were not available could result in the loss of a job, threaten parental rights, or create food insecurity in the household. Eliminating temporary barriers to transportation is a big deal.
